MiFID II is the EU's Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II, which sets conduct-of-business and investor-protection standards for firms marketing and selling investment products across the European Economic Area. It requires marketing communications to be fair, clear, and not misleading, and underpins much of EU financial promotions supervision by regulators like ESMA.
