ACL, or the Australian Consumer Law, is Australia's national consumer protection statute, prohibiting misleading or deceptive conduct, false representations, and unfair contract terms across all sectors. Financial services marketing must comply with the ACL in addition to sector-specific ASIC rules, and it forms the legal basis for much of the ACCC's advertising enforcement.
